Bearing Resistance Failure
GBR+
The program performs the general ground failure verification for multi-layer soils above and below the foundation base, whose friction angle deviates by 5 degrees maximum from the mean friction angle. The shares of the skin surface that are in contact with the individual soil layers are calculated. The mean friction angle is redetermined in proportion to these surface areas and the ground failure mode is recalculated. The iterative process is repeated until convergence is reached. Subsequently, the mean cohesion coefficients and the mean specific weight are determined in accordance with the surface shares of the soil layers based on the ground failure mode. Furthermore, the resistance to overturning, the safety against displacement and the permissible base pressure are verified.

Add-on FDPro
With the additional option FDPro, the foundation programs FD+, FDB+, FDS+ and GBR+ can be extended to include:
- an earth pressure approach
- an inclined foundation base
- a seismic ground failure verification
- a ground failure – punching shear verification
- a bearing capacity calculation of the foundation soil with a table of design values of the base pressure resistance.
- a graphical output of the internal forces along the main axes
Note on the free 30-day demo
The additional option FDPro can also be tested for 30 days without a license. As soon as you call up a function from FDPro, you will be asked whether the function should start as a demo.
